About Aimee Semple McPherson: The early 20th
century evangelist, Aimee Semple McPherson, was a pioneer of
women in religion. Having experienced a profound religious conversion at age
seventeen, Aimee began preaching across the (excerpt from
Foursquare history of Founder-foursquare.org) Note: Interestingly, Kathie Lee Gifford (yes, of “Regis and Kathie”), a graduate
of Oral Roberts University, is co-writing a musical with David Pomeranz based
on the life of Aimee Semple McPherson, entitled “Hurricane Aimee.” Kathie Lee hopes to open the show in Perhaps her production will stir renewed interest in this great 20th
century Christian pioneer and the God she served.
